Advanced Information Management (AIM) System
To cope with the many challenges of running modern surface transportation
systems, operators need advanced vehicle tracking, dispatching,
security, and control systems. But, until recently, operator control
centers had to rely mostly on stand-alone, "stovepipe"
information systems that lacked automated information sharing.
ARINC's Advanced Information Management (AIM®)
System eliminates the need for inefficient, inaccurate manual
processes. By using a building block approach and fully open architecture,
it enables disparate systems and databases to quickly exchange
information, seamlessly and automatically.
Originally developed for the demanding rail-transit dispatching
environment, AIM has now been extended to handle a variety of
advanced tasks, including multimode dispatching and facility access
control. AIM also supports seamless information exchange between
two or more control centers and with other, external public safety
and traveler information systems. ARINC is continuously improving
AIM, incorporating new features and technology and enhancing system
reliability and maintainability.
From rail, bus, and paratransit dispatching, to facility access
control and freeway management, AIM is the control center technology
of the future.
