iMUSE ExpressARINC now offers a scaled-down version of its industry-leading i MUSE™ check-in system, which is found at major airports, worldwide. i MUSE Express™ is a compact, inexpensive, easy-to-set up system that allows agents to check in passengers, print boarding passes, and check baggage from almost anywhere. The system can be installed at essentially any location with a standard Internet connection. Its low cost, flexibility, and simple installation will appeal particularly to small airports, small carriers or those operating in seasonal markets, mid-city ticket offices, cruise lines, parking terminals, rental car facilities, transit stations, and convention centers. Although scaled down in size and cost, i MUSE Express provides similar features of full-size common-use terminal equipment or CUTE systems.
The system consists of a single, secure workstation that’s offered in two versions: a standard workstation or a compact, portable suitcase packed with a check-in system to go. The system sets up in minutes and supports a variety of printers for generating baggage tags and passenger boarding passes. ARINC developed a special Internet service so that i MUSE Express delivers high availability and security. As with all airport check-ins, operators of i MUSE Express in the United States must obtain security training and certification from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). |

By using the Internet instead of costly, dedicated telecommunication
circuits, i MUSE Express reduces communications costs by
up to an order of magnitude. The simplicity and low investment
and operating cost of i MUSE Express finally makes check-ins
practicable and affordable for cost-conscious carriers and airports.
For
example, the system can cost-effectively be used to support multiple,
one- or two-terminal mid-city drop-off locations that accept
luggage from air travelers.
