Maritime Navigation
ARINC is a pioneer in developing equipment that guides vessels
over water and displays their status graphically. Unlike other
GPS offerings, our positioning and heading system technology accurately
displays vessel speed and orientation, whether the ship is moving
forward, astern, or sideways; is at a dead stop; or is turning.
One of our solutions,
PilotMate®,
uses our patented kinematic GPS technology to graphically aid in maritime
vessel navigation and maneuvering. Two GPS antennas mounted on the
ship's railing enable precise determination of vessel position, orientation,
heading, and direction. The solution is updated every second. To cut
costs, the antennas can be moved from vessel to vessel—and are
installed and calibrated in minutes.
ARINC PortSourceTM
allows ships at sea to obtain real-time navigation and port information—including
weather and port conditions—using reliable, wireless Internet
access technology.
