ARINC Donations for Haiti Relief Surpass $37,000

February 18, 2010

Annapolis, Maryland—ARINC Incorporated and its employees will donate a total of more than $37,000 to two relief organizations following the disastrous Haiti earthquake of January 12.

The company has received about 200 personal checks and cash donations for Haiti relief from its employees, with the average amount between $85 and $105. When combined with 100% matching funds provided by the company, the total to date represents $37,352.

“When you consider many of our employees made donations directly to charities before we offered our matching program, this total indicates an extremely generous level of giving,” said Robert Manigold, ARINC Vice President of Human Resources, Administration, Brand Management & Communications.

About $27,000 of the total is designated for the Red Cross, and $9,000 for the Save the Children foundation. ARINC plans to turn over all donations by the end of February.

The company set up its Haiti relief effort nine days after the magnitude 7 quake struck the capital of Port au Prince and nearby cities, killing and injuring an estimated half million people and destroying or damaging 300,000 homes and buildings.

ARINC has a long record of donating for humanitarian relief following such events, having given $55,000 after the Southeast Asia Tsunami in 2004 and $150,000 following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. In addition, the ARINC Charitable Team (ACT) collects employee donations year-round to support many local, regional, and national causes. ACT charitable donations in the last ten years have totaled more than $5,700,000.
